Located southeast of Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, Sands Sports Park is one of the flagship destinations within the Sports Boulevard project, the latest addition to Saudi Arabia’s growing network of sports and entertainment hubs. The parks stretches across a vast expanse of sand dunes and features more than 45 kilometers of mountainous and sandy bike trails, a resort, a track for horse riders, and pedestrian pathways, along with a number of art attractions. One can cycle from the far east of Riyadh, passing through its north, all the way to Wadi Hanifah in the west.
“Space Madak” is a competition organized by the Saudi Space Agency and partners to support and encourage those who are fascinated by space science and technology. The competition consisted of three categories: for ages 6-11, 12-14, and 15-18. More than 80,000 students from across the Arab world participated in the competition. On June 25, the winning entries were launched to the International Space Station as part of a mission that lifted off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida in the US.
